What should I Expect at a Primary Care Visit?
At a primary visit, the medical team will obtain important information regarding your personal and family medical history, current mediations, allergies, diet, and lifestyle. The team will also obtain a current height and weight, and check your blood pressure, heart rate, and other pertinent vital signs.
For preventative services the provider often will obtain bloodwork and other screenings to identify early warning signs or to monitor chronic conditions such as high cholesterol, diabetes, and kidney or liver disease. This is also a great time to discuss any concerns about your physical or mental health with your provider. During this visit, the team can recommend ways to improve your lifestyle and support your long-term health.
